NASCC Steel Conference: Registration Is Open Now

The NASCC Steel Conference is back again this year, this time taking place from April 22 to 24, 2020 in Atlanta, GA. For those who aren’t familiar with the show, it’s the world’s top educational and networking event for the structural steel industry, and Benchmark Fabricated Steel is eager to attend.

Structural steel professionals, from structural engineers to erectors and detailers to architects, will gather at the Georgia World Conference Center for sub-conferences and over 250 sessions on a wide variety of steel-related topics. There is also a trade show at which you can view the latest products and technologies that are taking the industry by storm.

Exhibition features

This year, NASCC is featuring 275 exhibitors, who will be lecturing on topics from ball bearings to 3D printed metal bridges.

You’ll be able to watch live demonstrations of manufacturing equipment (if you’ve ever wanted to see steel beams cut, punched and drilled, now is your chance) in the exhibit hall—but there will also be software and safety demonstrations as well as every possible variety of steel construction equipment and component.

Some highlights of the 2020 NASCC Steel Conference include:

• Keynotes: This year’s keynotes include “What the Big Brands Know,” “Jim Fisher’s Keys for Successful Designs: Quips & Myths” and “Gusset Plates: The Evolution of Simplified Design Models.”
• Panels: You’ll be able to attend panels on all facets of the steel industry, including client satisfaction and how to make sure your clients don’t lose trust in your business, closing the deal, navigating the use of marijuana in the workplace and forecasting market conditions and construction trends.
• Case studies: Take a look at how other firms and builders are handling major projects, from Chicago’s Willis Tower to New York City’s 425 Park Avenue.
• Networking: It wouldn’t be a conference without the opportunity to do some networking, so you’ll want to attend the two included events. First, there’s the welcome reception, and then there’s the “Peach, Love and Steel” block party. The block party takes place at four local businesses: a pizzeria, a barbecue joint, a biergarten and a brewpub. It’s a fun way to get to experience Atlanta while still making connections.
